SANTA BARBARA COUNTY Santa Barbara County Association of Government has announced that all community meetings and special events have been postponed through the end of March or early April due health guidelines used in response to COVID-19.
“Thoughtful planning and coordination has gone into organizing these community meetings and events for the benefit of communities and residents of Santa Barbara County. SBCAG looks forward to rescheduling these events when the attendance of all members of the community is possible,” Lauren Bianchi Klemann, SBCAG spokeswoman, said in a news release.
The following events have been postponed: the California Transportation Commission’s March 25 and 26 meetings in Santa Barbara; the ribbon cutting and groundbreaking for the U.S. 101 Linden and Casitas Pass Project in Carpinteria scheduled for March 26; the Santa Ynez Valley Traffic Circulation and Safety Study community meeting in Solvang, scheduled for March 26, has been rescheduled for May; Open Streets Santa Maria, scheduled for March 29, has been rescheduled to Oct. 25; and the Santa Ynez River Trail Alignment Study in Buellton, planned for April 7, has been rescheduled to May.
SBCAG will conduct its regular scheduled meeting March 19 at the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, at 105 E. Anapamu St. The public can utilize the remote video testimony system at the Santa Maria hearing room, 511 E. Lakeside Parkway in Santa Maria. Social distancing measures will be in place for the board meeting. Written public comments can be submitted to 260 N. The meeting will be televised live on CSBTV channel 20. Rebroadcast of the meeting will be 5 p.m. March 21 and 5 p.m. March 23.
