SANTA BARBARA Scholarships to help pay for undergraduate and graduate programs will be awarded by the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. For the last cycle of applications, almost 3,500 applied, and almost 2,500 students were awarded about $8 million in total. Applications for the 2020-2021 academic year will open Tuesday.
There are eligibility requirements that applicants must meet. These requirements include:
- Attending a Santa Barbara County school for at least four years from grades 7 to 12
- Graduating or receiving a G.E.D. from a county high school by June of the current academic year
- Planning to attend full time at a Title IV-approved school in the next academic year
- Being a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or AB 540 eligible
