Pratima Sherpa has been flirting with a breakthrough moment all season long, and the SBCC freshman golfer found it on Monday afternoon.
The product of Nepal fired an even-par 72 at San Dimas Canyon Golf Club to capture her first medalist honor, beating Jessie Lin of Canyons by two strokes at WSC No. 6.
It was Sherpa’s second-best round of the season, leading the Vaqueros to yet another second-place finish behind powerhouse Canyons, who cleared SBCC by 14 strokes on Monday.
Alexa Bleth fired an 84 to take solo sixth and Marie Naud notched an 86 to tie for seventh for SBCC, while Honey Lawrie (88) and Paris White (89) both finished in the top 11.
Canyons won its sixth consecutive conference match.
SBCC (31-15 overall, 24-6 in WSC) won’t have long to rest, visiting Royal Vista GC in Walnut on Wednesday in the Southern Cal Preview at 10 a.m.
