Only a month removed from celebrating his 70th birthday, the tireless Lionel Richie is bringing his latest 33-stop tour through Southern California, making a stop at the Hollywood Bowl on Monday, followed by the Santa Barbara Bowl on Tuesday. Richie’s career started in the Commodores in 1968, setting the scene for a balladeer career that took off in the 1980s. His music has touched the world to the tune of more than 90 million records sold. Richie has also revitalized his Grammy Award-winning career by taking his opinions to TV in the form of an American Idol judge, where he works alongside Santa Barbara native Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. For those that have tickets or that will be purchasing them, it comes with a CD of Richie’s new album, with an email explaining how to redeem. When: 7:30 p.m., Aug. 6; Where: Santa Barbara Bowl; Tickets: $50.50-$280.50; Information: sbbowl.com or 805-962-7411
