Every American who honors and respects our legal system should have an anathema attitude toward illegal immigration. For too many years now, our country has had to face the mounting dilemma of what to do about the millions of immigrants who enter our country illegally. Perhaps there is little we can do except hope that someday these individuals will take the necessary steps to become full-fledged, legal citizens. But we must take a strong stand in permanently stopping all those who want to enter our country illegally.
The overwhelming majority of those who enter our country illegally come from poverty-stricken, unstable circumstances. But living in poverty is no excuse to enter our country illegally. It is totally unfair for responsible individuals to go through normal channels to become bona fide citizens while others enter our country in total defiance of our laws. Again, ignorance of our laws is no justification for entering our country illegally.
Only by stopping all illegal immigration can we begin to focus 100 percent of our resources on those who want to become legalized citizens.
