A two-story condo was damaged in a two-alarm fire that occurred Thursday morning at a complex located in the 4300 block of Modoc Road, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 11:40 a.m. As crews were responding, there was a report that occupants were trapped inside and a second-alarm was sent out. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department was joined on scene by crews from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, said Capt. Daniel Bertucelli, fire spokesman.
The first and second floors of the condo were heavily involved in fire and crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze. Once the fire was out, crews searched the condo and there was no one inside.
Adjacent condos were also checked and no people were located, though a dog was found in one unit and given to a caregiver, Capt. Bertucelli said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
