A candlelight vigil for suicide prevention will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Seal Fountain, 850 Linden Ave. in Carpinteria.
Organized by HopeNet of Carpinteria, the vigil recognizes World Suicide Prevention Day.
Scheduled speakers include 1st District county Supervisor Das Williams; Carpinteria City Councilman Fred Shaw; Alejandro Vasquez of Compassionate Care of Carpinteria; and Colette Schabram, executive director of Pacific Pride Foundation.
