96, passed away on February 23, 2013 in Santa Barbara, CA. She was born on June 30, 1916 To John Hicks and Lydia Schrock Hicks on a small farm in Arickaree, Colo. When she was five they moved to El Monte, CA where the family grew to I I children. Doris married Darrell Edward (Bill) Sullivan and settled in La Puente where they raised their family and she honed her skills and love of gardening. Her only greater love was her family. She moved to Goleta 11 years ago to be near her daughter. Doris was predeceased by, Bill, son, Thomas E. Sullivan, daughter, Carolyn Sullivan Bresnahan, Grandsons Robert Bresnahan Jr. & Dennis Sullivan, son-in-law Robert Bresnahan Sr., Great grandson Shane.
Surviving her are: daughter, Kathleen Sullivan Hendrix and son-in-law Ken Hendrix, brother, Glen Hicks, daughters-in-laws Sami, Kathy, and Maria. Grandchildren: Shannon, Danny, Rob, Susan, Joseph, Kelly, Don, Shubi, Perris, Robyn and Allen and their spouses: Tony, Vicki, Flor, Leslie and Cristy.
Great Grandchildren: Jennifer, Annie, Tommy, Steven, Monica, Eric, Courtney, Kelsey, Jacob, Theron, Daniel, Sean, Robbi, Samantha, Christopher, Taryn, Travis, Darrell, Valerie, Derrick, Danny, Christy, Nonie, Monique, Angel, Amanda, Anthony, Ashley, Allen Jr. and their spouses: Julia, Anthony Brittany, Pete and Elliott.
Great-Great Grandchildren: Sydney, Meara, Jasper, Gwendolyn, Emmett, Brody, Chad, Beau, and Serenity.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday March 7, at Goleta Presbyterian Church, 6067 Shirrell Way. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a memorial donation to The American Lung Association.
