SANTA MARIA The Santa Maria Joint Union High School District board of trustees is conducting a superintendent search, the district announced in a Monday news release.
Van Leuven and David Verdugo of Leadership Associates are advising the board in the search and will be in the district Aug. 27-29 to “facilitate several sessions with various groups within our district’s community to receive input about the desired qualities and characteristics of the next Superintendent,” according to the news release.
The district is asking the public two questions: “What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District?” and “What are the strengths of the District, and what are the challenges you see for the District in the coming years?”
The district is hosting a public forum at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Support Services Center, 2560 Skyway Drive.
An online survey will be available on the district’s website, www.smjuhsd.k12.ca.us, from Aug. 19 to Aug. 30.
Residents can email their responses to the questions to Becky Banning atbbanning@leadershipassociates.org
