LOMPOC Police arrested a 35-year-old Lompoc woman Monday on suspicion of murder in the death of Eldri Jauth.
The body of Ms. Jauth, 74, was found by Lompoc Police Department detectives Saturday in the apartment of her neighbor, Melissa Martin, according to a news release
Ms. Jauth had been reported missing and detectives received information that led them to Ms. Martin’s apartment, police said.
Detectives immediately began looking for Ms. Martin and tracked her to a possible address in Santa Ynez, according to the news release.
On Monday, Lompoc detectives and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department detectives set up surveillance on the residence. At about 4 p.m. Ms. Martin stepped outside and was taken into custody without incident, according to the news release.
She was taken to the Lompoc Police Department and booked on suspicion of murder, police said.
