
CARPINTERIA The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man and woman accused of theft from a vehicle earlier this month in Carpinteria.
At approximately 8:18 p.m. Jan. 9, the suspects smashed the window of a vehicle in the parking lot at 3208 Via Real Ave. and stole items from the vehicle. Video surveillance showed the suspects arrive at the location in a white colored Toyota Prius with black rims and wheels. A wallet, briefcase and a rose-gold colored iPhone 6 Plus were stolen from the vehicle, said Raquel Zick, sheriff’s spokeswoman.
The victim’s credit cards were used between 9 and 9:30 p.m. the same night at both Target stores in Ventura. The suspects arrived at Target in the same vehicle used during the burglary, Ms. Zick said.Anyone with information about this crime, or that can help identify the suspects, is asked to contact Deputy Ellis at rme4609@sbsheriff.org.
