The Santa Barbara Symphony will start its 66th season with “Festa Italiana!” at 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at The Granada, 1214 State St.
The orchestra will perform Overture to “La Forza del Destino,” written by Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi.
The symphony will also play Paganini’s Concerto for Violin No. 1 in D Major, featuring acclaimed violin soloist Francesca Dego; Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, Opus 45; and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, Opus 90 (“Italian”).
