SANTA BARBARA The Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake will be presenting a talk on “Birding in Santa Barbara County,” featuring Coni Edick of the Santa Barbara Audubon Society this weekend.
The talk is scheduled for 2 p.m. March 8 at the Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake, 2265 State Route 154. Admission to the nature center and the lecture are free, while tickets to park at the lake are $10 per vehicle, according to a news release.
Ms. Edick is a bird handler and education co-chair for the Santa Barbara Audubon Society. She will guide attendees through the natural beauty of Santa Barbara’s birding hot spots.
Ms. Edick is a Santa Barbara native and attended local schools up through Santa Barbara City College. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Sonoma, and worked in human resources for 35 years before her retirement from UCSB in 2013.
The Neal Taylor Nature Center is located within the Cachuma Recreational area. It offers exhibits on the local valley and mountain environment for all ages, emphasizing hands-on exhibits for children. The center and gift store are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
