LOMPOC Registration is now open for the Lompoc Youth Commission’s seventh annual Teaching Our Teens As Leaders (TOTAL) Conference, which welcomes all teens in 7th through 12th grade.
This year’s conference, themed “Back to the Future,” will be held Friday, March 13, at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave.. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and admittance to the conference, which is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Students will be kept busy with four breakout sessions, two keynote speakers and raffle giveaways. Breakout sessions will teach teens important skills like how to form a good first impression or learning to make the best out of a bad situation.
Likewise, keynote speakers Aaron Wilson and Juan Bendana hope to motivate and inspire participants. Mr. Wilson is a motivational speaker, singer-songwriter and author, as well as writer and star the film “Life As Such.” Also a renowned lecturer, Mr. Bendana travels to schools across the country to help students make better decisions.
