A C130 cargo plane crashed late Sunday night at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, but none of its seven passengers were injured — causing delayed and canceled flights out of the airport on Monday due to a National Traffic Safety Board inspection.
Airport spokeswoman Deanna Zachrisson said at around 10:25 p.m. the plane experienced a mechanical failure and attempted an emergency landing. The landing was unsuccessful and the plane crashed on a patch of infield grass north west of the airport terminal.
The plane was carrying seven passengers, none were injured.
Upon impact, the plane caught fire crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to put it out.
