Fireworks illegal in most of county
Personal use of fireworks is illegal in Santa Barbara County, except for Santa Maria and Lompoc, where rules will be enforced for “safe and sane” fireworks on July 4.
“Fireworks can easily lead to fires, especially during our current high fire season,” according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. “Enjoy public displays of fireworks by trained professionals.”
