Our beloved Irene Silva Trevino went to be with our Lord and savior on Thursday, March 14, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family. Irene was a fighter until the end, and is now resting in eternal peace in God’s loving hands. Irene was born in Aguacalientes, Mexico. Her family moved to Santa Barbara in the late 1950’s. She graduated from San Marcos High School. Irene married Rubel E. Trevino Sr. in 1980 and has two children with him. Before becoming ill, Irene worked in electronics, and enjoyed living life to the fullest. She was a great dancer and was always the life of the party.
Irene is survived by her father Adolfo Martinez Silva. Her children Rubel “Jr” Trevino (Vanessa), Yvette Hilario (Ruben), and Sonia Silva. Her grandchildren Nevaeh & Nicco Trevino, Gracie, Alexander and Andrew Hilario. Her siblings Rene Silva (Yolanda) and Juanita Miranda. Her nephews Rene Jr, Israel, Robert Jr, nieces Miranda (Francisco) and Veronica as well as numerous cousins, extended nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Lupe Maria Silva.
Irene was a strong woman with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Although our hearts are saddened by her passing we take solace in the fact that she is now resting and no longer in pain. We choose to rejoice in the memories of good times spent with her telling stories, making us laugh, singing, dancing or simply celebrating a good day. Irene was one of a kind who will not soon be forgotten.
