Two Isla Vista men were arrested Friday in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred Monday, authorities said.
Detectives with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at a residence in the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive and recovered numerous items that were taken during the robbery, sheriff’s spokeswoman Raquel Zick said.
Heyaw Meteke, 21, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and false imprisonment. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
Jawad Hebbar 21, was arrested on suspicion of accessory and is being held on $20,000 bail, Ms. Zick said.
he robbery occurred around 10:22 a.m. Monday. Two victims told authorities they were robbed at gunpoint inside their residence by three suspects. The suspects stole two laptops, a cellphone, a wallet and an unknown amount of marijuana. It is believed the victims were specifically targeted, Ms. Zick said.
The investigation is continuing.
