LOMPOC Former Lompoc police Chief Pat Walsh has been selected as the inaugural police chief for the city of Menifee in Riverside County.
The selection of Chief Walsh was announced last week by Menifee City Manager Armando G. Villa. Chief Walsh was selected from a pool of 49 applicants after a six-week process that included interviews with regional public safety leaders, community members and city staff, according to a news release.
Chief Walsh has been in law enforcement for 35 years. He served as Lompoc’s police chief from 2014 to January 2019.
He will officially join the city of Menifee on Tuesday. He will be sworn in once the state-mandated peace officer clearance process is complete, officials said.
Chief Walsh and his wife of 34 years, Catherine, plan to make their home in Menifee.
