GOLETA With construction of the Old Town sidewalk improvements project underway, the Goleta Water District will be replacing approximately 29 water valves throughout the construction area.
The district will turn off the water approximately three times over the course of its valve-replacement project. The first shutdown will occur from 8 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Friday, according to city officials.
The district is working to get the water valves replaced before paving work begins for the sidewalk project. Construction for the project began Monday.
“The City of Goleta appreciates the GWD’s efforts and collaboration with the City to make the repairs prior to repaving the streets for the OTSW project. This will mean less inconvenience to the residents and public in the future and ensure those streets last longer by not having to cut into new asphalt,” read a news release issued by the city of Goleta on Wednesday. For a complete project schedule, visit www.cityofgoleta.org.
