Formally of Santa Barbara, passed away on October 7, 2012 in Couer D’Alene, Idaho from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born to the late Charles and Violet Norton, on January 27, 1939 in Chicago, IL. Judi graduated from Lompoc High School in 1958 and married Darryl Williams. Judi worked in the family drycleaning business until starting a job as a teletypist for the Santa Barbara Newspress. She also worked for the San Luis Obispo Telegram Tribune before eventually moving to Carpinteria. Judi became a prominent Shaklee distributor with her second husband, Jack Hamm, for many years.
In 1990, Judi made the surprising move to Couer D’Alene, Idaho. It was there that she hoped to enjoy the snowy winters which she remembered so fondly as a child growing up in Chicago. Judi will be remembered for always making friends and family welcome into her home, by feeding you more than you needed and always had a fresh pot of coffee ready to go. Judi was a devout Christian who loved to sew, knit, cook, play a serious game of scrabble, and shop for the best deals around.
Judi is survived by her sister Beverly (Art) Rossi of Chicago, IL., her three children Suzy Williams of Paso Robles, Mitch (Jodi) Williams of Solvang and Joe (Bernice) Williams of Goleta. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
