SANTA BARBARA The city of Santa Barbara will be hosting a community workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30 in the multipurpose room of the Franklin Community Center, 1136 E. Montecito St.
The meeting will present to the community the themes that were provided during a listening workshop held in the fall regarding transportation and landscaping needs along Milpas Street between Canon Perdido and the Milpas roundabout at Highway 101. Some solutions include: left turn arrows at the intersections of Milpas Street and Cota, Gutierrez and Montecito streets; changes to the lane configuration at the intersections of Cota, Haley and Mason streets; crosswalk enhancements along each intersection and also along Haley Street at Quarantina and Nopal streets; additional street lighting at all intersections; and tree canopy management overtime.
