SANTA BARBARA A listening workshop will be held next month to discuss the future of the Milpas Street corridor.
The workshop is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Franklin Community Center, 1136 E. Montecito St.
The purpose is to discover community desires and needs for the future of Milpas Street from Highway 101 to Canon Perdido Street. The city is looking for feedback about walking, biking, traffic, parking, lighting, parkway trees and landscaping, according to Jessica Grant, supervising transportation planner for the city.
A design update on the Eastside green lanes and bike boulevard gap closure project will also be provided at the workshop. A follow-up meeting will be held in December.
“A community-supported project for the Milpas Corridor will strengthen Santa Barbara’s applications for state and federal grant funding awards in 2020,” Ms. Grant said.
