82, died at her home in Santa Barbara on June 23, 2013. Virginia was born in Huntington Beach, CA on May 14, 1931. She was taken to Mexico as a child where she grew up in Morelia, Michoacan. She has been a resident of Santa Barbara from 1967 to the present.
Virginia worked at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital as a linen processor for approximately 15 years. She was also a seamstress who worked on the interior lining of caskets, producing leather bags and other items. Virginia was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Virginia is survived by her two sons, Saúl Gómez (Maria) and Jorge Gómez (Alicia); grandaughters, Yesenia Gómez, Leticia Ortiz, grandson, Jorge Gómez, and five great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
The Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, 7:30 pm, at Holy Cross Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 10:00 am, also at Holy Cross, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
